TMI Associates was established on October 1, 1990, with the aim of responding to the demand for comprehensive professional services required in the new era.
We have strived to create a system that continuously bears in mind the following fundamental concepts present at the time of our establishment: “Globalization and responding to an era with a more borderless world,” “Establishing specializations” and “Integration of specialized fields.”
TMI is comprised of attorneys, patent attorneys, paralegals and staff with extensive experience in both domestic and international practice. We were also the first firm in Japan to have developed qualified joint venture projects based on equal partnerships with several major global law firms. Furthermore, in order to respond to the increasing overseas expansion of Japanese companies, we have been actively engaging in business by opening oversea branch offices throughout the Asian region, such as in China, Vietnam, Singapore, Myanmar, Thailand and Cambodia, as well as our offices in Silicon Valley and London. Moreover, we have also placed TMI representatives in France, Brazil, Kenya, India, the Philippines and Indonesia, and we plan to set up additional overseas offices in other regions step by step. We have also set up a broad-ranging network in Japan by establishing branch offices in Nagoya, Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe and Fukuoka, in addition to our main office in Tokyo. This provides a system which enables our team to suitably respond to our clients’ needs for a wide range of legal services in a timely manner by taking advantage of our extensive array of practice areas, expertise and experience as a major law firm with the aim of achieving high levels of client satisfaction tailored to each locality.
